Cookies, explained without the jargon

Last updated 1 September 2026. What we set, why we set it, and how to switch it off. Short version: we use as few cookies as the site needs to work.

Section 01

What cookies actually are

A cookie is a tiny text file a website saves in your browser. It remembers things — that you've dismissed a banner, that your session is secure, which map you looked at. Cookies can't run code, can't read your files, and can't identify you by name unless you've given us that information yourself.

This site uses three categories: strictly necessary, preference, and one third-party map embed. That's the whole menu.

Section 02

Managing your preferences

The banner on the homepage sets your choice, and your browser controls the rest. Both work — whichever you prefer.

Ask us about cookies

Clear the site's cookies in your browser settings and the banner reappears next visit. Or just tell us and we'll walk you through it — it takes about a minute.

No. No ad networks, no cross-site tracking, no social pixels. The only cookies here are the ones this site needs to function.

The embedded map on the contact page is served by Google and sets its own cookies when it loads. If you'd rather avoid it entirely, the address and directions are listed as plain text right next to it.
Section 04

Third-party cookies

One embed, one purpose: the Google Maps frame that shows you where the door is. It loads only on the contact page and only after the page loads. We don't run ad networks, social pixels or cross-site trackers on this site — life's too short and your data isn't our product.

If Google updates its cookie practices, we'll update this page and the date at the top.

Section 05

When this page changes

If we ever add a cookie that needs explaining, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes get a note on the homepage banner for a month. No dark patterns, no "by continuing you agree to 400 partners".
